Journeys in June

So, here we are at the end of June and already we’re halfway through the year. Let’s be honest, June has left some of us reeling from all its new developments and deliberations. Personally, June has thrown me for a loop, but on the upside, it has also presented me with some great experiences and the opportunity to travel to Ohio. This month we also celebrated the wonderful dads in our lives.

As has become customary for me to do, as we approach the end of the month, I slow the pace down to reflect on some of my more pleasant memories from days past. Please enjoy some of my memories of June and its journeys and please join me for more in July.

Again, thanks for following along and welcome to the new readers of this blog. I wish you all the best as we face the other half of the year together…Sincerely Jan!

  1. It looks like you had a full June, full of interest and good for you to look back on.

We have a slavery museum in Liverpool, a port that was right in the middle of the slave trade in the 17 and 1800’s. You come out of the museum feel sickened and a little numb.

    1. I know the feeling Paul, while visiting South Africa we visited 2 slave castles (not sure why they’re called castles) where the Africans were held before they were shipped to be slaves. Some of us got physically sick, It was so sad and surreal to behold.

      1. It certainly is Janice, it’s several years since I visited the slave museum but I’ve not forgotten its impact.

  2. Half way through it and as I lay in bed listening to all the noise outside with the fireworks 💥, I just can’t help but to think that new year’s is quickly approaching and there’ll be fireworks again.
