Today my husband and I went to the track to get in a few laps. Normally when I walk, I track my performance on my Apple watch, and I also count on my fingers and keep a mental check in my head. These past few weeks, for a competition I’m in, I’ve also been mapping my walk on a “MapMyWalk” app. Now I’ll be the first to admit that Math is not my strong suit. It never was and it never will be. Of course, I know enough to get by and successfully balance my financial records, after all I was an accountant for over 30 years. But when it comes to counting on my fingers and in my head, I’m an expert at that.
Now back to the track, after completing our eighth lap my husband looked at me and said, “we’re about to start our tenth lap, right?”, guess he was counting on his fingers too. So, I said, “no, we’re just finishing up our eighth.” Now admittedly, my husband is very good at math, but like I said, I am an expert at counting on my fingers and my count is eight and I have two apps here to prove it. Still, he was adamant that he was right and that he had his fingers to prove it regardless of what I or my two apps said. Now three against one and given the little I do know about the laws of probability, please help me tell this guy who is more likely the right one.
I must admit though, and please don’t tell my husband this; I don’t know if today we were in a time warp or something, but today’s 12 laps seemed extra, extra, long.

Time and space are slippery, even if they can be measured in detail.

Ten laps?!?! π± Nice! I can barely walk one lap, much less ten. An account for 30 years and math is not your think? Youβve got to be kidding me lady. π€£π€£

I’m serious, even in accounting the basic is all you need π. Sure, you can do one lap! Just start going up and down the block, then slowly inch your way out further. You’ll surprise yourself.

Maybe you broke the time-space continuum while you were running and entered a twilight zone where you were both right! Surreal stuff, right out of a time loop TV series like Dark.

Leave it to you to come up with this explanation. Who knows, you might be right though π.
