On Wednesday, after spending four months with us, my parents went home to Jamaica. Last year after their stay, I made the trip back home with them. This year I couldn’t make it, at least not just yet. However, this is as good a time as any to take a trip down memory lane and since it’s “Photograph February” I’ve got the perfect picture for that. This photo was taken in August of 2016 while rafting down the Rio Grande River in Port Antonio, Jamaica.
Though unintentionally, our little meander down the river was perfectly timed because just as we were ending the sun was going down, so we had the pleasure of enjoying the beautiful sunset. This trip I’ll always hold dear because it was the last time all five members of my family vacationed together. Now everybody’s all grown with their own responsibilities, love interests or travel companions so our vacation schedules are rarely aligned anymore. Sure, we’ve been back to Jamaica many times since then, but there was always a member or two or three missing.

It would be nice if we could jump back in time occasionally for a family revisit. Adulthood gets in the way of so many plans. It’s a beautiful picture and it sounds like it was a lovely day.
